Although police have been attempting to remove the video from the Internet, it is still available online. A sexually explicit conversation between her and her boyfriend has been translated from Shanghainese to Mandarin to English and is available all over the internet.
Shanghai Public Security Bureau (PSB) officials have said that Huang set up a blog to profit from her notoriety by offering advertising space and interviews in exchange for cash. In the blog, Huang reportedly said she would give interviews and provide exclusive information about herself for 30,000 yuan, about $4,383 US. She offered modeling gigs for 50,000 yuan and appearances at bars for 20,000 yuan.
Huang herself posted the video on the internet. It was not immediately clear what legal actions Huang will face. Under Chinese law, anyone who films or uploads sex videos onto the internet is guilty of distributing pornographic content. Pornography is illegal in China, but remains widely accessible on the Internet. She also is accused of sending a copy of the video to a former colleague surnamed Wang.
